Scotia and I have been talking about a theme/niche for our wedding. Turns out in the South they have something called a Grooms cake (they have it other places but Scotia talked about it like it’s an everyday thing) who knew. So I was trying to think of something that represented me; Graphic Design, Food, Drink, Outdoors and Photography

Then it cam to me… something that I have always loved. Something that I have kept with me all my life… LEGO. Scotia agreed that Lego really does describe who I am. So with our decision made I went to work. We decided to have the Grooms cake made to look like real Lego blocks. My mom stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with with this original design (which was all made while staying in an RV in New Orleans) For the wedding cake Scotia agreed that my version of the Bride and Groom looked great made from Legos (yes that is a reversible Bride face just incase). For the groomsmen I ordered black 4×4 lego plates and found silver cufflink and tie-tack bases and made them all a special avatar that represented each of them. The guys loved them! The whole Lego theme worked out amazing although some of Scotia’s family that didn’t know me very well though I actually worked for Lego. I could work there…. Lego my number is…..  Check out http://rivardeveland.com to see all the details on our wedding blog.
